Competitive Advantage for Legacy and Next-Generation Services

Press Release Body = HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Apr 23, 2007 - ADTRAN, Inc., (NASDAQ: ADTN),
a leading supplier of next-generation network solutions, today announced that
Horizon Chillicothe Telephone Company, ATC, and Citizens-Brevard Telephone have
selected ADTRAN\'s Total Access(R) 5000 Multi-Service Access and Aggregation Platform
for deployment in their networks. The Total Access 5000 provides a competitive
advantage for carriers of all sizes, by allowing them to use existing infrastructure
in support of both legacy and next-generation services.

\"The ADTRAN Total Access 5000 was the most economical solution for ATC. We wanted a
solution that could offer 100 percent DSL/POTS and ADTRAN delivered,\" stated Kevin
Eason, manager of Network Operations for ATC. \"This will reduce both OPEX and CAPEX
on our future DSL deployments. We look forward to adding additional Total Access
5000s and replacing our embedded base of legacy DLCs.\"

\"The Total Access 5000 is now being accepted as the next generation Broadband DLC
for fiber and copper delivery connectivity in new networks,\" said P. Steven Locke,
vice president of sales, service providers, ADTRAN Carrier Networks Division. \"Not
only does the Total Access 5000 allow Independent telephone companies to move to new
Ethernet service applications, but it also enables service migration in existing ATM
networks.\"

\"We needed an IP-based solution that would support both legacy T1 and GR-303 as well
as new IPTV and GPON services in a scalable platform,\" said Paul Wooldridge, Network
Design Engineer, Horizon Chillicothe Telephone Company. \"When you combine the
system\'s scalability with a 10-year warranty and ADTRAN\'s outstanding customer
support the Total Access 5000 Multi-Service Access and Aggregation Platform was a
perfect fit.\"

The ADTRAN Total Access 5000 is a carrier class multi-service access and aggregation
platform that bridges the gap between existing and next-generation networks. It
supports both legacy and emerging service interfaces over copper and fiber, easily
scaling to support bandwidth intensive applications. The Total Access 5000 provides
a clear migration path for traditional services like voice, but is also designed to
enable new service deployments such as Fiber to the Node (FTTN), Fiber to the
Premises (FTTP), and Ethernet over Copper (EoCu).
